Industrial processing and chemical manufacturing remain important components of Turkmenistan’s industrial growth strategy.
The sector continues to expand through investment in large-scale chemical production, mineral fertilisers and industrial feedstock processing, supporting both domestic demand and export-oriented industrial development.
Major projects include the development of new fertiliser production capacity, the expansion of carbamide output and continued investment in downstream industrial processing linked to Turkmenistan’s resource base.
Recent project activity includes the foundation of a new carbamide complex in Balkan Region with planned annual production capacity of more than 1.1 million tonnes, as well as the continued development of new mineral fertiliser capacity in Turkmenabat.
These projects form part of a broader strategy to strengthen industrial self-sufficiency, expand value-added production and support long-term export growth in industrial and chemical products.
